Acer Gaming Machine… As Good As It Gets?

Acer

The Acer Aspire is a great looking machine, but don’t call it handsome.  Don’t call it cute, and definitely don’t call it a solid computer… this machine is… Fierce.

When you think of a gaming pc, you think of a powerful machine.  Your mind probably immediate drifts off into the land of Dell XPS machines, or Alienware… but I’ve got news that you’ll be glad to hear.  You can get a super-powerful gaming computer from a trusted brand like Acer, for a fraction of the cost.  I’m not talking a mom and pop computer here.  This isn’t your buddies laptop, and it’s certainly not for the faint of heart.  This computer is a beast, and if you can’t appreciate it, please move on to you HP or Compaq, and leave it to the rest of us.

Now, 4gb of memory, a 500gb hard drive and a 2+ghz processor is a pretty powerful, albeit average computer in this day and age.  What if I told you that this bad boy contained 6gb of ram, a 750gb hard drive, and a 2.66ghz processor Core i7 processor.  It gets better.  How about 10 usb 2.0 ports, a dedicated 1gb ATI Radeon HD 4850 graphics card, embedded high definition 7.1 audio, and a digital tv tuner?  Wait… still not done.  What if I told you you could have all of the features above, plus a Blu-ray drive, expandable memory slots, and you could upgrade the ram to 12gb?  Are you excited yet?  Me too.

This machine is expected to be shipped within the next few weeks, and it should retail in the £900 to £1,200 range.  Not bad for something that could run your whole house, and still have power left over to balance your checkbook.
