Toshiba NB100-12A

We talked about net books just the other day, so I figured it was time to talk about a great little Toshiba netbook that can be had for a super small amount of cash. Small amount of cash, small in size… big value.
The first thing you are going to notice about the NB100 is it’s small footprint. With a small, albeit gorgeous 9″ widescreen, this net book is just over 2 pounds. That’s a pretty small package, and much smaller than my Macbook Air.
I’m still not sold on net books, but this one isn’t a bad package. It’s good looking, and small enough to fit in a purse for a girl, or very small satchel for a male. I get the practicality aspect, but you are just giving up so many features to get something that seems to be nothing more than a computing trend to me. I get it, I really do. It’s a cheap way to get on the internet in a super portable fashion, but you are giving up an awful lot of computing power, hard drive space, and usually a disk drive… when you are only cutting the weight by a pound or two in most cases, and the size is roughly half that of a normal notebook. Everyone has their own opinion, but I’d much rather have a normal size notebook.
The Toshiba NB100-12A has just over 1 gb of ram, and a 1024×600 display. I realize it’s only £254.47, but it’s just an awful lot to give up. I can do most of this internet computing on my ipod, so why spend the cash for a netbook?
